Interdisciplinary survey of major concepts and theories in the academic field of Women?s Studies ? explores material from the sciences, social science, literature, and the arts- describes women?s position in contemporary society- explains causes and consequences of this position- discusses approaches to change- emphasizes the importance of gender, race, class, ethnicity, and physical condition within women?s lives.
