ENG 311 - Shakespeare: History/Comedies |
This course concentrates on Shakespeare's early work: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Richard II, Henry IV, The Merchant of Venice, Julius Caesar, As You Like It, Twelfth Night, and Much Ado About Nothing. Some attention is given to the historical background of Shakespeare's time, but the emphasis of the course is on the dramatic mastery of the works themselves.
